The Malouf and Iris Abraham

 

Scholarship Assistance Fund

These scholarships were established by the late Malouf and Iris Abram of Canadian, Texas, who during their lifetimes were known as “living giving legends.”  Unless otherwise stated, the scholarships listed below were created to assist students further their education with emphasis in the fields of Agriculture and/or Human Science.  However, if there are no eligible applicants who meet the major criteria, other majors will be considered.

Eligibility

  • Applicant must be a graduating senior from Gray, Hemphill, Lipscomb, Ochiltree, Roberts or Wheeler Counties;
  • Exhibit character, leadership and financial need; and
  • Maintain a cumulative high school GPA of 80 or above (3.2 on a 4.0 scale).

Scholarship Requirements

*Each semester’s payment is contingent upon meeting the following:

  • Recipient must attend college the fall semester immediately following selection;
  • Maintain full-time student status (typically 12 credit hours/semester for undergraduate studies);
  • Maintain a 2.5 or better cumulative GPA while in college; and
  • Attend the colleges/universities specified above.

Scholarship Amount

  • Amarillo College, unrestricted studies – $500/semester for up to 6 semesters
  • Clarendon College, Department of Agriculture – $500/semester for up to 6 semesters
  • Frank Phillips College, unrestricted studies – $500/semester for up to 6 semesters
  • Oklahoma Panhandle State University, College of Agriculture – $500/semester for up to 8 semesters
  • Texas Tech University, College of Agriculture – $500/semester for up to 8 semesters
  • Texas Tech University, College of Human Sciences – $500/semester for up to 8 semesters
  • West Texas A&M University, College of Agriculture – $500 semester for up to 8 semesters

*Scholarships are not transferable. e.g., If a recipient of the the Abraham Scholarship for Amarillo College transfers to another institution, the scholarship will be forfeited.
