Scholarship

The Foundation established this scholarship fund in 2011 by transferring amounts from funds that had been dormant for many years.  The fund also receives gifts from various estates and other funds as they become dormant after several years of inactivity.  The fund will provide for at least one scholarship annually to eligible applicants of any age who reside in the northernmost 26 counties of the Texas Panhandle. Priority will be given to nontraditional students; however, current college students may be awarded the scholarship.

Eligibility

  • Preference is given to students who are not transitioning directly from high school to college;
  • Available to applicants of any age residing in the Foundation’s service area;
  • Applicant must enroll in a postsecondary program of study at an accredited college/university in the northernmost 26 counties of the Texas Panhandle resulting in a certificate or degree, from the Associate through Doctorate level.

Scholarship Requirements

*Each semester’s payment is contingent upon meeting the following:

  • Recipient must attend college the fall semester immediately following selection;
  • Recipient must attend college the fall semester immediately following selection;
  • Maintain a minimum of 6 credit hours/semester for undergraduate studies and a minimum of 3 credit hours/semester for graduate studies;
  • Maintain a 2.5 or better cumulative GPA while in college; and
  • Attend any accredited college/university and major in field of choice.
