Scholarship

This scholarship was established by the family and friends of Marjorie Urban.  Mrs. Urban was a lifetime resident of Perryton, Texas.   Mrs. Urban was committed to the people of the region, to music through classical piano and organ, and to religion through her church and numerous interdenominational projects.  The scholarship benefits high school seniors and currently enrolled college students from Hansford, Lipscomb and Ochiltree Counties in the Texas Panhandle wishing to major in Music, Religion, or Humanities.

Eligibility

  • Applicant must be a graduating high school senior or current college student from Hansford, Lipscomb, and Ochiltree Counties; and
  • Exhibit community service and leadership.

Scholarship Amount

  • $500/semester for up to 6 semesters

Scholarship Requirements

*Each semester’s payment is contingent upon meeting the following:

  • Recipient must attend college the fall semester immediately following selection;
  • Maintain full-time student status (typically 12 credit hours/semester for undergraduate studies);
  • Maintain a 3.0 or better cumulative GPA while in college; and
  • Attend any accredited college/university and major in Music, Religion or Humanities.
