CHARLOTTE RHODES, ACFRE, has not only made a career out of helping nonprofits – she has made it her passion in life. Her career has taken her from the Baylor College of Medicine to the Dini firm in Houston – with the Don and Sybil Harrington Cancer Center (among others) in between.  She currently serves as Vice President of Resource Development and Sustainability for the Amarillo Area Foundation. She served as a fellow for the Susan G. Komen National Breast Cancer Foundation Board and completed 12 years as a national board member for the Association of Fundraising Professionals. She is past president of the Women’s Forum and has served on over 30 nonprofit boards.  

Her major fundraising activities and achievements are extensive – with campaigns exceeding $1 billion – and she has received numerous awards for her work. In 2002 she received the Outstanding Fundraising Professional Award for Houston, Texas and served as Honorary Chair of the Greater Amarillo 2005 Race for the Cure and received the Outstanding Fundraising Professional Award for the Panhandle. In 2006 she was honored by the Amarillo Soroptimists as a “woman making a difference,” and received the Amarillo Junior League Outstanding Sustainer Award and the Business and Professional Women “Texas Women to Watch.” Charlotte frequently conducts workshops and seminars in management, marketing and fundraising, is a published writer, and has served as a regional and national consultant to over 50 institutions, organizations and corporations. She is one of 86 individuals in the world to be recognized as an Advanced Certified Fundraising Executive. She holds a BS from Texas Tech University and a MS from West Texas A&M University.

KATHARYN WIEGAND, as Senior Project Director of the Nonprofit Service Center, she works to deepen our engagement with nonprofits across the Texas Panhandle. She works directly with a wide diversity of client organizations to provide consulting services that help improve effectiveness and efficiency. Katharyn has deep roots in the Panhandle’s nonprofit community. Her nonprofit work began before she graduated from college and has continued for 22 years.
As both a nonprofit staff member and a board member for numerous local organizations, Katharyn understands the complicated issues that nonprofits face on a daily basis. She is known for her capacity to work with nonprofit board and staff members in a fun and interactive way that leads to positive outcomes. Katharyn is a frequent presenter for civic and community organizations on a variety of topics.  She has been honored as a “Texas Woman to Watch” by the Business and Professional Women and was elected to serve as a trustee for the Canyon Independent School District in 2011. Katharyn holds a BBA degree in marketing from Texas Tech University and a MBA degree in business from West Texas A&M University.
