Scholarship Criteria (Deadline is February 15, 2013)

For more than 30 years, the Amarillo Area Foundation has administered a Scholarship Program that currently boasts 102 individual funds awarding scholarships annually for students to attend college. Residents of the 26 northernmost counties of the Texas Panhandle are eligible for scholarships funded through the Amarillo Area Foundation. In 2012, the Foundation’s Scholarship Program received 484 new applications, as well as 93 renewal applications for consideration for the 2012-2013 academic year.  In total, 265 students were awarded $326,639 in scholarship funds for the upcoming school year.
Scholarship applications, including all required attachments, must be submitted by 5:00 p.m. on Friday, February 15, 2013.  Attachments that are not uploaded to the online application, must be hand delivered or mailed to the Foundation’s office by the deadline date or they will not be considered.  Mailed attachments must be postmarked by 2/15/13 or they will not be considered. 
The Amarillo Area Foundation offers scholarships in several different fields of study, such as Accounting, Agriculture, Education, Governmental Services, Human Sciences, Nursing, Medical, Pharmacological, and General Studies.
